Abstract
After the Industrial Revolution, western powers conquered and colonized the Arab land from West Asia to North Africa for a long time, which had a profound impact on its culture which is directly or indirectly reflected in geographical names. This article attempts to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of using foreign languages as Arabic Romanization for geographical names from a historical and cultural perspective, and puts forward tentative suggestions for the production of geographical names and the construction of geographical name databases.
